We FINALLY kicked off the summer 2019 garden season! After the 3 inches of snow in late May and the epic hailstorm last week, we were able to get the transplants in and get hot weather seeds planted.
We also enjoyed the results of the spring Garden Art Immersion. The students in the immersion created some color and beauty for the garden to share with the community! Now the entire Challenge community has new seating with the mosaic seats and bench. The shed has a new sign with our name and there are colorful art pieces everywhere!
We look forward to seeing the tomatoes, peppers, corn, squash, herbs, flowers and more grow this summer. We also planted some exciting GIANT varieties, including a giant white sunflower, jumbo pink banana squash, and serpentine gourds. We can't wait to see how these varieties do this summer. As a learning garden we always like to try new things.
Happy summer gardening!
